The only official language of Mozambique is Portuguese. Most of the people in Mozambique speak some Portuguese, even if not as their first language.
Additional languages include Swahili, Makhuwa, Changane, Sena, Bitonga and Ndau.
The lack of native speakers is due, in part, to the exodus of massive number of white Mozambicans to places such as Portugal, South Africa, and Brazil and to the fact that the country is far from the rest of the Lusosphere (the Portuguese-speaking African countries). This left very few native speakers of Portuguese in Mozambique. Of those Mozambicans who speak Portuguese, the majority are non-native speakers, therefore the Portuguese spoken has a heavy African flair.
The Mozambican Portuguese accents share their roots with European Portuguese, but have their own set of idiosyncrasies, exceptions and cultural markings that come with hundreds of years of language evolution. Throughout Mozambique, the accents are different as well. The dominant Portuguese accent in audiovisual products is the southern Maputo Province accent.
There is no common Portuguese accent between Angola, Cape Verde, Guinea Bissau or Sao Tome. Each is unique, each has it's own sayings, each evolved independently. Apart from that, there are cultural connotations associated with each of these accents.
